The town of Lokeren commissioned our practice to draw up a Masterplan for the station area. The commission was granted together with the follow-up funding from the Flemish Government. The key to improving the quality of the station’s surroundings is addressing the parking pressure and reorganising the traffic structure. We work together with Carin Jannink Landschap en Stedenbouw and Transport and Mobility Leuven on this assignment.
Palmbout team wins competition for the Slachthuis site in Antwerp
On 20 July this year the jury chose our team as the winner of the competition and entrusted us with the task of drawing up a Masterplan for the Slachthuis site, Lobroekdok and Noordschippersdok in Antwerp. The area is located between Park Spoor Noord and the Antwerp Ring Road, bordering directly on the compact residential neighbourhood Den Dam. Commissioned by AG VESPA and Land Invest group, our practice will gladly set to work on this wonderful transformation assignment in the next months. The jury praised in particular the clear spatial structure that will give this fragmented district a future-proof basis. In close consultation with the neighbourhood, the design will be worked out in more detail to create a robust urban residential area. Our team also includes Feddes-Olthoff landscape architects and Goudappel Coffeng.
